Public Engagement and Science Communication

Engagement with research and science communication is a crucial role within today's research landscape. From planning, research and pathways to impact, the societal benefit of research, and communicating that research is integral.

For research to truly be of benefit to society, researchers need to work with the public and relevant communities to create the best outputs to benefit the world we live in.  The embedding of public engagement with research is still a new concept in the long timeline of academica; starting from ancient philosophers to modern day, so there is a long way to go in it's development.

As a science communicator and public engagement professional, my aim is to encourage best practice, facilitate engagement, champion collaboration and myself engage with researchers and publics to further develop the roles of science in society.
